Hi, sorry if this seems like a silly question but is it ok to turn the gas off on my coolbox/fridge to use my stove twice a day or should I buy an other gas supply. All suggestions welcome
I take two bottles. Why? Because when you run out of gas in one (usually the cooker) cylinder you've got a spare. You always run out on a Sunday evening too when you're trying to cook dinner, when the shops are shut, the campsite doesn't have one your size left, and it would cost you x2 the going rate if they did.

I my case it was a Saturday evening 13th August, 5 mins to 8, dinner already started but not even half cooked ... the following Monday - 15th Fer Agosto, the August bank holiday in Italy.
Mad dash to the site shop ... no gas. Really mad dash to local supermarket that closed at 8 p.m., no gas.
Up early Sunday to drive to 6 different supermarkets, various outdoor shops and gardening centres ... no gas.
Monday morning ... no gas!
Tuesday, gas was delivered to the local supermarket and by then I had vowed to never again rely on the stuff for cooking when camping.
I now use paraffin stoves, at least I can see how much fuel I have left long before it becomes a problem.
Have recently tried my Waeco Combicool on gas though, would like to be EHU free occasionally, worked a treat, but the 5kg gas bottle takes up too much room. Need to score a little 904 bottle, should be good for a week end of cooling.
