when we leave a site we always drain our hot water tank by flipping the drain switch by the heater. This lets the water straight out onto the ground. As i was doing this on Friday the Warden shouted to me that i had a leak under my van. I explained that i was draining the hot water tank and he got quite irate with me saying that he had never seen this before, that it shouldn't "just come pouring out onto the ground" and that i must have a leak as he said that no van he had ever seen let the water straight out!!! Even when I switched the drain off to show him he still insisted that we had a problem. We thought that we were normal - where is the water supposed to go? It left me quite upset - not the way to finish a weeks holiday - as he was virtually shouting at me! (i always drain the water when cold)
Hot water kills the grass but if you were draining it when it was cold there should have been no problem with the warden. Some older vans have a drain plug by the vent and has to be unscrewed and only flows out slowly.
mines the same too ..it pours out ..as a poster said earlier red hot water can kill the grass ..i leave it open to drain when leaving a rally field one week and the next rally wonder why the water takes so long to fill the boiler ...yes...i have 3 or 4 times forgotten to close it again ...the warden needs an update on some boiler draining methods
Unfortunately there are some wardens that just like to moan about anything. Draining water back into the ground - isnt that whats called recycling??? Does that particular warden moan at God when it rains?
