Jaffa and I have been considering buying the Easy Store Airer, does anyone already have one of these? and if so, are they quite strong? I realise that they are not designed for a normal wash load, but I would like to go camping with a smaller amount of clothes, as long as I can wash them and have somewhere to hang them to dry.
Less clothes to pack would mean I have more space for any other gadgets that catch my eye!
check out the equipment site here. you can buy small fold-up airers just like the traditional ones. perhaps re-organise the items you pack, take easy wash and dry only, for instance no jeans - too heavy when wet and takes ages to dry, try joggers or linen. Take more layers (t.shirts) and cut down on number of fleeces/jackets. Just been away with family of 5 and the latter worked!
Also consider spending a few pence using the tumble dryer on site. I damp dried our wash and draped on guy ropes to finish off. You may have already tried all these suggestions. You'll work something out.
We take the airer I use to air the ironing at home. It looks like the easy store but just has three arms, it cost about half the price of the easy store in Argos or Index.
It stands in a corner of the tent as our "wardrobe" and when I wash clothes I put them on hangers and put them outside, this is if the washing lines at the campsite are full which they usually are when I do a wash. I don't like buying things just for camping if I can use or adapt something I already have.
