I am off this weekend for a weeks camping in north devon. My partner has a thing about wasps. We held a BBQ this weekend and his day was ruined by the amount of wasps there were buzzing about.
This made me realise that our camping trip could also be ruined by wasps. So, does anyone know of a wasp repellent that you can spray on to your skin, or anything else to keep the little blighters away from the tent?
All suggestions very welcome!

I hate them, but find that the insect repellant, Jungle Formula, works for me. Also, keeping food and drinks out of the way does not encourage them to visit.

The spray sound safer!! I wouldn't have the nerve for anything else! my 4 year old son was stung last week! they just sting without provocation thats what is so scary! my husband was stung whilst driving - now that was scary we hadn't realised the thing was in the car - so it was a seriously out of order wasp!!

Just enjoyed reading Rehd most informative reply, having just found out wasps do have a very useful purpose it does seem a good idea to feed them. Not to much though as it would appear their favourite food are flies, I said they were useful.

Rehd's idea sounds great, but as a back up another thing to do is to smear some jam (etc) into a jar and then tie string around the jar and hang it upside down from a branch or bush a little way from your tent/van etc, the Wasps that do visit the area fly up into the jar (to get to the jam) but cannot fly back out again, when you leave the site, you can upright the jar (and run) freeing the wasps without harm.
