they have always, been the biggest player for tents and equipment in this area, so perhaps they could have gotten away with their service, and they are easy to get to, just off the m4, obi have a great reputation and i think they will build their customer base out of dissatisfied abc customers, and today found out there is a new place in bridgend, spoke to them earlier on the phone, and have just come back from their showroom, can not recommend them enough, friendly interested staff, no tannoys and even child friendly, added bonus for us even easier to visit than swansea, funny thing is we would never have heard about them if it was not for the treatment from abc, at least some good has come out of it

they are great at Bridgend camping when we were looking at the differences between a camping khazi and a luggable loo they were so helpful and got them off the shelves so we could sit on and compare :) and had so much time to chat to us :)

only browsed round ABC though can't remember buying anything but remember tripping over one of the tent lines on Vango diablo,great place shame about all the bad customer service i have heard about :(
oo i didn't mention Pontypridd caravan and camping its on the old Cardiff road,Rhydyfelin,fabulous place been going there for years its a 5 min drive for us,My hubbie shudders when i ask can you take me down pontypridd caravans please????? the people who own it are so helpful and we have got so much stuff from there over the years :) a big thumbs up from me :)

must agree with everyone abc in swansea are really bad to deal with compared with obi in cowbridge or bridgend camping-but the problem is their display is so good.
visit them and look around but NEVER PURCHASE ANYTHING !

My husband and I brought a Kampa electrical lead from ABC 2 weeks ago, 1st trip out it did not work. we returned to the shop on Monday to get a refund or replacement to be told they do not do either. they told us we would need to leave our lead with them for 3 weeks so they could get an electrican to do a writen test, We told them it was new and they said its now you have opented it and tried it so its now used. They said they did not have to give us another one or a refund. we were very mad as going away again next week and need a lead. They called my husband a lier and the manager came out and said that all BRITSH people are THICK and dont know the law. The argument got very heated after they called my husband a lier and in the end there were 4 men one side of the counter all shouting at my husband. In the end we picked up a working one off the shelf and went to leave, they threateded to call the police and everything. They then took our lead to a unit across the way from them to test it. they were gone 15 minutes in which time I told everyone coming into the shop not to bother buying anything as the service was terrible. When they returned they said our electric lead was working properly and plugged it in to show us. They must of opened it up or replaced it as over 10 people on camp site tried in and in different hook ups it was dead. If I didnot have a job I would stand outside there all day stopping people from going in and send them bankrupt. I will definatly be complaining to trading standards.

We found a lovelly camping suppliers in St Clears this weekend just opened and the frendliest place have ever been.

we have been to the new place in St clears, and agree with you, friendly helpful staff, hopefully abc will start feeling the effects of these newer places opening up, just to repeat what everyone i have spoken to advices
just go to look but never never buy from them. we have learned a very expensive lesson about abc
Things do not seem to have changed, I spent over a thousand pounds with them over two or three visits 3yrs ago, I had an issue with the tent and it needed to go back under warranty, I was unable to find the reciept because I had put it somewhere safe, they did not want to know, no reciept no joy. Contacted trading standards who told me they should take it back especially as I had a bank statement with there name on it and the exact price of the tent. They still refused and told me " I could have bought the tent somewhere else or earlier, come in and purchased goods to the value of the tent and then done the warranty claim thing. There's me thinking I was a valued customer, obviously not. After 3 weeks of ripping house apart found reciept and they sent it back to the manufacturer.
I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING OF THEM EVER AGAIN, THEY ARE HAPPY TO TAKE YOU CASH, BUT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS SADLY MISSING.
With Bridgend Camping and Caravaning opening, I now use them, fair prices, good stocks and most of all HELPFULL AND AFTER SALES IS GOOD WITH A SMILE.
Alot of people said before I bought from abc, that they are bad when it all goes wrong, well from my own experience they.
My view is they either have it too good or they just don't care or both.
Over the last three years all I can say is ABC's loss and Bridgends gain for I would go without, before buying anything from them ever again.
