Hiya, I bought one of these coolboxes recently from someone, can anyone advise if they are ok to use on its side like a fridge or does it need to be upright like a standard coolbox.

We have an aldi coolbox and it's brilliant! I'm not sure tho if u are supposed to keep it upright but we always have mainly because of the fan in the lid. Last summer we went to the isle of wight and left a small bottle of water inside overnite, the following morning there was ice in it - it's a brilliant piece of kit

Super coolboxes. We have two of them and the only problem we've had is Hound's food freezing overnight. He wasn't too chuffed at that.
As for using them on their side, I personally wouldn't. What you've got with these is, essentially a bucket full of cold air. If it was on its side this would all flow out every time you opened it so cooling would have to start all over again. I would also have thought they'd be quite hard to open if they were on their side.
Another thing with coolboxes - and I would guess they're all the same - is that you get quite a bit of condensation inside so make sure you store plastic boxes in the bottom.
Not sure how long it will stay frozen, but when we used ours at Easter (my absolute bargain, off ebay for £10) bought meat on the friday afternoon for bbq saturday, mince for taco's on sunday and bacon for each morning including monday kept it in my coolbox and didn't open it until needed, kept milk etc in friends coolbox and the meat/mince/bacon was partially frozen(baring in mind that none of it was frozen in the first place!
If you put the frozen stuff on the bottom, I'm sure it will keep frozen for at least a couple of days(if it's anything like mine!)
We used ours for a week last July and it was great - granted, the weather wasn't hot but food was fresh. Would recommend them but not sure about putting it on side.
