I made the mistake of buying one as I had no oven in our caravan - honestly - sod all fits in - perhaps if you were camping alone, you'd get a decently cooked pie, but otherwise to fit 2 pies in to feed 2 people, you have to remove shelves, thus leaving the elements exposed - ALL RUBBISH - enjoy your hob & grill & with a bit of luck BBQ - they are a waste of time
------------- Bringing up baby to be a seasoned caravanner - we bought one to holiday cheaply - working well so far - & caravanners are lovely - helped us on our virgin voyage & our awning!!!
I don't agree I have to say - it is a mini oven afterall so you would expect it to be small. You do have to compromise but we cooked a small chicken in ours and didn't need to remove anything. You may need to cut a full size pizza in half and fiddle around with it a bit - but its great for anything small, jacket potatoes, toast, fish fingers etc -mines brilliant from Argos max wattage 1300w around £15
I bought one for under £20 in Lidl last August when we were away, the weather was terrible and the bbq's weren't happening.
I am very pleased with it, there are 5 of us, I have cooked pizzas, sausages & yorkshire puddings (eq. to toad in the hole), lasagne, frozen ready meals, even roast potatoes and oven chips, Mine had one shelf and a baking tray which slots in like a shelf so I have two cooking areas.
It will now always be part of our camping equipment subject to electric hook up.
Must admit my Husband was very septical about having one, but he was quickly converted.
I have a little one from Poundstretcher - think it was £12.99.
No it won't take a pizza, but I get pizza fingers instead.
I don't think it would be much use for a family, but for just me & teenage son it's great as we can do pies, oven chips and all sorts of stuff in it, it will take a double portion lasagne.
If I go away on my own then I can do "TV dinners".
