I too bought UFO lights 1 from Aldi and 2 from Poundland plus batteries.
Fab for weekend and didn't need to replace any batteries. Only thing is quite a blue/white light.
Bought the kids some of those press on LED lights if they woke in the night 2 for £1

I've tried various lanterns , don't find them bright enough, and expensive to keep replacing the big batteries .
but the ufos were great. Got some from wilkinsons , some from poundland and Kodak batteries, 10 or 12 for £1 .
We have a very big tent too and use 2 or 3 of the ufos if playing cards or reading . when the batteries start to go the lights get a bit dimmer and then instead of changing the batteries we used them in the bedrooms for nightlights , they last ages.
Then put fresh batteries in another light , so we sort of rotate them until the batteries have really gone.------------- Debbie

The UFO LED's from ASDA are good. Just a few pounds. Have 3 settings of brightness. Have a hangy thing and magnets to stick onto 'something'. LED lights don't give off a nice soft light though.

Another vote for UFO LED light here, far better than the battery powered lantern type------------- Chris

I gotta get me some UFO lights...
We were given (new) two wind up LED lanterns which were next to useless (they've been relegated to night light duty in the kid's room!
