Bottom line is take a system with DVD after years with indoor outdoor analogue digital and satellite can still find it a problem getting a signal on some sites.
When watching the latest blockbuster then these are what you need
One base unit will do for the whole family and they also have FM RADIO so when sat in the sunshine ( hopefully ) you can listen to your music without disturbing others.
These are the lowest priced ones I have found but if you want to spend more the Sky's the limit.

If you don't like TV, don't take one. The great thing about camping is that you can make of it what you will - as long as you don't interfere with any one else's enjoyment, anything goes. If you don't have anything to contribute to the thread, don't bother.
Are you referring to my joke ? I think you need to go shopping for a sense of humour. Don`t you know what lol means ?

Hi Wyn, I have just purchased a set from wedodigital,[Meos 10in]. What aerial do you use for camping? I have not been able to receive any signal with the aerial supplied. Do I need to buy a better quality aerial?
We have been using a portable Colour 10" Thomson, which runs on either mains or 12v, although it's a CRT it is quite compact, but must be well over 10 years old now, still gives a great picture though, so will be hanging onto it for a while longer, it must be worth next to nothing, we also use personal stereo type wireless ear phones, a set each, which means we don't disturb the other campers with volume, we only use satellite so no aerial to lug around either, just a dish and tiny Sky Mini-Box receiver, and Comag receiver for backup, both are also Mains/12v, have been looking at replacing the TV and would go for 10" again Ideal size for camping I think, AVTEX seem about the best but at around £250 for a 10" are a bit pricey, the MEOS models seem better value, and I noticed in Maplins to-day, they had a 10.2" at £129 but the construction was a little on the cheap side, not bad for the price though.
The OH and I have been discusing this today. We already have a digital tv dongle for the laptop, so we are gonna take that. Bonus being that plays dvds too, plus we have a broadband dongle.

Just what i'd suggest, Laptop and tv dongle (like Hauppage hvr900 or 1400), you've got TV/DVD and Games/Internet if needed.
