A 300W kettle at 220V needs around 14amps
That means you need 16amp electric on site
You can get cheap low wattage kettles.that you can run on all sites with EHU
The basic rule is dont use 2 things that give off heat at the same time.

Hi, we use a very cheap tesco kettle (under a fiver) but as already said, don't use anything else at the same time for risk of tripping electric.

it would just affect the ehu box you are hooked up to. sometimes this can affect the other ehu cables attached to the same box but not always. site warden usually has to come and open the ehu box and press reset button. ------------- Debbie

Most EHU circuit breakers are 10 Amp, so would be likely to trip. You would be snookered on a site with 5A electrics - there are a few of them, especially abroad. We use a 750W travel kettle from Argos.

if it was to trip i take it that it will trip on the ehu and not the site
Even if it does just trip your electric, the warden wont be impressed if he has to come and reset it every time you put the kettle on.
For the sake of a few pounds you wouldnt have to worry about the tripping.

I use a normal household kettle (but never at the same time as anything else, except maybe the TV) and have never had any problems - but then I've never been on a site with less than 10amp.
