everyone, we have recently purchased a bailey 500/5 after having had a trigano folding camper
however, the beds are really uncomfortable, my hubby not one to complain, but he was up with the lark, as he said his back was killing him, and he couldnt relish the thought of going for two weeks sleeping on it,
anyway get back to the topic, is there anything like a mattress topper or indeed that itself that would suffice and not make it feel so hard.
wondered if go outdoors might have something, but thought i would ask here first
I bought a 1inch thick double size memory foam off ebay for around £30 we have had it for over 2 years and find it smooths out all the lumps, I store it in the shower room when not in use, BUT on this web site every one will have there own ideas on mattreses, ie like use another sleeping bag on the base,so keep looking!
All I know is that we couldn't be without our Matress topper. I wondered for a while wether to get one or not but now couldn't bear a night in the caravan without it.
we had the same problem with our bailey, brought a memory foam from ebay, have not looked back, it is well worth the money and they can be picked up very reasonable.We just roll ours up and tie it, and store it under the seating.
apart from ebay (of which there are loads) are there any more online ones, dont mind ebay but dont know which is the best to look for as there are that many.
we bought a 2" thick mattress topper from Dunelm Mill , as yet unused but we will know the results in a fortnight when we go on our jollies, the caravan bed ( fixed ) cripples my back, hopefully £100 well spent
We use a mattress pad from ikea. We are really pleased with it. The front double in our caravan was quite uncomfortable due to gaps inbetween the cushions. This smooths them out very well. It is not too heavy and easily fits under the seats with the rest of the bedding during the day. We looked at traditional mattress toppers but found them too bulky for storage.
WE had the same problem, it was me who was always complaining of a bad back in the morning. I found a silentnight mattress topper that would have sold for about £80 in tesco's at a factory shop for just under £50. We have a duvet cover to put over it, about a fiver in tesco's and we've never looked back. It rolls up quite small and stays in one of the front seat lockers...........very pleased with it.
