Does anyone know if you can get a largish portable gas BBQ that takes lava stones?
I don't need a griddle etc. but would like to get a BBQ with that 'authentic' BBQ type of flavour that the stones give food.
Unless, that is, you can add lava sones to a Cadac easy chef or similar?
Cheers!

You can buy the stones seperately and yes they do make a big difference to flavour. Got the impression that they were no longer supplied to keep down the cost.
Cannot see it working on a caddac tho have only used mine recently for the 1st time.

We have this which came with lava stones. They sit on a grill just above the gas jets. It is also available in a delux version whih is larger and has an extra tier for keeping food warm.

aww grizgut - I hate it when they do that - part of the fun of camping for me is to have a coal BBQ and then use the BBQ as a fire pit.
for what its worth, I use lava rocks on my home BBQ ( certainly not portable as its a four burner thingy on a hardwood cart).
The one from outdoor world looks great for £23.99
