It is advisable to stay a little below the maximum amps stated, especially if the site is busy but 16 amps should be more than ample for your needs. For example a microwave with an input power rating of 960 watts would use 960 / 240 = 4 amps with a 240 volt supply.
Look at your appliances and divide the max wattage regured by 240 to give the amps they will use.
The MCB on our EHU has a max rating of 10A I think. If you are likely to use something that draws more than 2300 W, like a higher powered kettle or a fan heater you might it trips the MCB. Although they will generally pass a bit more than the rated for current happily enough
