If you don't have a carpet, where will all that stuff go?
Probably better to be stuck on a removeable carpet than the tent itself.
Also, and I do camp with a dog, Its claws may puncture your ground sheet if not protected.
------------- Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.

I would say not, our sadly departed black lab used to love caping with us, but he also had the lovely habit of sleeping against the tent wall and waking up in a pool of water - smelly wet dog and then come and shake all over the tent. Just imagine that smell in your tent all week...

Sounds like the perfect time for a non SIG tent and either a loose groundsheet or no groundsheet at all. ------------- Piglet

Can't see the point in camping if you can't feel the grass beneath your feet. Never have even a groundsheet other than under the inners.
I am of the (old fashioned) opinion that SIG's and carpets do too much damage to the grass.
