We're relatively new to the joys of camping but I must admit now we're into it, there's no stopping us!! I We've bought quite a lot of gear following recommendations from the vast amount of dedicated camping colleagues including a camping stove & grill and most importantly - a Sibir 3 way cooler (after the tent that is)!! The cooler's been bl**dy fantastic - tried all the power supplies on our trip to Newhaven near Bakewell and it worked an absolute treat on all of them - definitely worth the princely sum of £135 - the ale was well chilled!!!!
Anyway - now we've all this gear we need a roof box - I borrowed a 450 litre one from a good friend but had to remove my car aerial - anyone know a manufacturer/supplier where I can purchase the largest roof box possible without having to remove the aerial - We have a '98 Audi A4 Avant with roof rails.
dont forget to wrap a strap around the box when you have stuffed it as the sun beating down on black (as the majority of the boxes are) can get quite warm and warp the locks, the last thing you want is to look in your mirror and see your things down the road.
Ha Ha when my box opened on the motorway it was raining and it was a grey one. But my big black halfords 450 ltr managed the sun. I have a focus and tucked my aerial under the box as it bends a little, reception was fine.............................
p.s straps around the roof box are a good idea........
