Just wanted to pass this on, I found these pouches of ready meals in Sainsburys the other day for my sons cadet expedition, it's much better and cheaper than wayfarer food pouches. they do a lovely range of food.

Wayfarer are made by Westlers - the firm that gave us canned burgers.  'nuff said.  When I ran DoE award expeditions I used to insist on teaching the participants to cook a meal from ingredients.  Granted, the protein bit may have had to be dried or tinned, but it always looked & tasted better than packet stuff as well as being lighter & smaller to carry.  If they are in Cadets, see if they can get MoD ration packs.  We used to get them when I was in the ATC.  The US ones are nicer than the UK version.
