I bought a Khyam Shader this year, and discovered the manufacturer's advice against leaving it up overnight or when unattended, which I can appreciate why, as two pegging points of my Aldi shader got blown loose in high wind when I was away from the site. Luckily, no damage was done.
I am eyeing a Khyam 4-pole windbreak which comes with a canopy, which I believe will be ideal to serve 2 purposes:
I am concerned that it may not be advisible to leave it up all the time, and would appreciate the advice from the seasoned campers on here.
Looking at it in close up view on the Khyam site, I would probably drop the canopy by removing the poles before going out or to bed, peg it down so that it does not flap about too much. Or add extra guy ropes to the canopy poles to give them extra strength and leave it up all the time.
Thanks for your help in advance.

we've got one and i take down the canopy at night and either peg it down, or roll it up and clip it to the top. Not sure about leaving it up, can see it turning into a kite.
That's what I thought too, taking down the canopy section at night.
Thanks!

Had no problems with ours until we returned back to tent from day out and found that the guylines were perfect and taut, windbreak upright and in postion - but that one of the "strong" metal poles had bent at 45 degrees - the roof section was not up either. Personally I would not trust these poles in future and am consideringing upgrading them to Vango poles for piece of mind. This Khyam Windbreak is easy to put up and with practise will eventually look taut and effective. Also buy some clothes pegs as the roof section blows around when not attached to the large upright poles.
I managed to put it up without any issues, left the canopy section down when I do not need it and at night, and have added extra guys for added stability.

I wouldn't leave any of these windbreaks, canopies or even tarps up unattended, I really don't think they are safe in high winds and if you are not on-site or are asleep the danger of it breaking lose and hitting someone or something else doesn't bear thinking about.
we've left ours up but only when its not windy....if you pitch it so its not straight ( like the one in the pic someone posted ) and use extra guy ropes it does give it an awful lot more stability....but probably best to be on the safe side and take it down if you need to leave it for any length of time and the weather is inclement.
Two of the pegs used with my windbreak were screwy ground anchors for extra strength and stability.
I have bought 6 more screwy ground anchors and loads of Delta Pegs and guys for use with my future shader/tarp.

The trouble is tarps and windbreaks are a bit like gazebos aren't they, you can peg them down as much as you like and if you make that rock solid then in poor weather the canvas and/or poles will fail?
I know lots of people do leave windbreaks, tarps and canopies up but in my view they aren't safe to leave unattended if there is any chance of high winds.
I think we'll see an increasing number of problems as so many more people seem to have canopies etc. this year.
Completely off topic, but I'm intrigued ..... do you carry all that food, veg etc (which is on the cooking stand in the picture) in and out of the tent every time you make a meal? Or just strategically set them up for a more colourful photo? LOL.

No, what were on the stand stayed out all the time, only the Cadac was taken in and out of the tent, and the knives too.
I came out one morning and found the mushrooms swimming in water after a night of heavy rain!
