Hi, we're thinking of getting a telescopic pole with windsock so the children can find the pitch easily when touring (we're off to France shortly). I don't want to get something that's too small - or too big. If I buy a telescopic pole from BlueSky, say, and it's 8m, can I make it smaller or do we have to use all the poles?

There's a seller on Ebay with Lineaeffe poles, which seem much cheaper. Has anyone used these?

Any advice on poles appreciated. Thanks, Julie

No experience of the Lineaeffe poles so can't help there, the poles that sky blue sell are Fladen Pachawk fishing poles, they are cheaper elsewhere if you google them

The last section of every pole is a bit feeble for a flag/spinner in wind and we always push the top section back in and use the thicker second from top length, fix the flag with a bungee, if you use a spinner fix it on with a swivel, bought from any tackle shop that sells sea fishing gear

Ours is a six metre and we use the first five metres

The answer is yes , you can buy an 8m but as Caster says dont use the last section as it is very thin and has little strength so it wont actually be too tall. Please remember that windsocks and flags can make alot of noise at night for campers so it is always wise to lower the pole and put it up again the next day.
