I want to be able to keep a charge in the leisure battery in our caravan while we go away for the month. There will be no electricity supply so I was wandering what type of solar panels and other units will I need. I want to run my laptop some of the time and the tv for a wee while plus the water pump, lights ect. Our battery is a 110amp.
Had a 87watt solar panel fitted to the roof of our motorhome which charges both the leisure battery and the starter battery. We have camped without EHU with no trouble at all, It worked well for us. Hope this helps.
After working a full weekend of overtime I "invested in a 55w panel for £210 delivered - I already had a charge controller. When we went away at whitsun the battery showed 12.8v after a couple of hours of good sun in the morning.
