the retaining catch on our dometic fridge isnt staying locked either! I have asked about replacing it and was told the only way to get it off is smash it off!!! Has anyone any advice on replacing it or repairing it?
Mothercare and other places do child safety locks for fridges which would keep it shut. Some friends did this at college when their freezer wouldn't stay shut. Worked perfectly.

it is a dometic, the bit that slides to lock it shut conceals a screw which would undo the main part but how do you get the slide off without breaking it?
