Just returned from 17 nights in France. New equipment tried this time was a Coleman comfort double airbed, Quechua tarp and a 3 shelf aluminium tube/fabric enclosed camp cupboard.

The tarp was the star of the show, very useful in both the very hot and in the hail and rain. Can't believe we didn't try a tarp years ago; best 20 notes spent recently.

The camp cupboard replaced one of the metal concertina types. The win for us is that, as we have a large vehicle, we could leave it up and stocked when we moved campsites - just plonked it in the back of the van. It is also lighter but does take longer to assemble/disassemble. If I was in a car I would probably stick to the old concertina model.

The airbed is not for me. I can honestly say that it is far better quality than others I have tried and stayed firmer for longer. If you are looking for a good quality airbed for sensible money then this should be on your list. However, I'll be trying a thermarest type mat on our next trip.

Just a closing stat for those interested....our 907 gaz bottle kept a portacool 35 fridge going for 12 days at full tilt and I still have gas in the bottle for at least another day or two.

Campsites visited this trip were:
1. Château des Ormes Campsite, Dol-de-Bretagne, Brittany
2. Campsite Le Rochat, Belle-Isle, Châteauroux
3. Camping Fontaine-Vielle, Bassin d'Arcachon, Andernos les Bains,
4. Ile D'Offard, Saumur

So glad you had a great time.  Could you tell me where you got your tarp for 20 squid?  I bought the same one at that price a couple of years ago on fleabay but my friend is having difficulty finding a tarp for under £50.  We dont live near a Decathlon store so cant pick one up from there.

Feeblecat, sorry to say it was from Decathlon. We don't live that near one either but took a detour to pick one up on a trip to Cornwall earlier in the year. Was a pain at the time but glad we did.

I have to be honest, you've surprised me that that the similar products from the likes of outwell are so much more expensive. Maybe somebody on here who does live near a decathlon would post you one. Even if postage was a fiver it would be well worth the money.
