dustyboy, i have just got back from there myself, in the town there is a store called Tradeing posts , i was impressed with what they sold for campers, there is allso a millets.
Yes its a good large site , The shower/ toilet block in the tent field could be better, so i recomend you use the shower block that will be on your left directly as you go through the entry barrier. If your in the non elec. field you may want to use the car to get there as its a bit of a walk to have a shower, but you will see what i mean when you compare them.
You get an entry pass to get through barrier and this pass gets you into that shower block.
Try to get there as early as poss. as on bank hols gets very, very busy by the friday night. I think aug. bank hols is there busiest weekend of the year.
What i like about the non elec. field (which is very large) you can pitch where ever you want.
Hi, I don't know about Hastings but Eastbourne next door has 2 very good camping shops on a road called Seaside which runs parallel to the seafront in the main shopping centre. We only know that as our tent was destroyed by gales whilst we were there in June and we had to replace it from one of these shops!
The Tradeing post is not open on a Sunday ....... there is a a handy shop called ESK-or-EKS, not camping as such, but have some cheapy stuff
Heading toward London on the A21 about 3 miles out of Hastings is Johns Cross and another couple miles up the road Caravan Tech in Hurst Green, both are very good camping shops
Drive carefully the A21 is notoriously bad road from Flimwell down to Hastings
