either they're a bit of a pain to try and fit though, watch your fingers or just don't bother and remember where it attaches to! ------------- Kate

We use Cabanon springs when we can get them but we also use other makes as well.
Buy the tool to fit the springs with - it's only about a pound and then it's straightforward.
I wouldn't faff around with keeping a broken pole when it's so easy to mend the spring ------------- Piglet

Piglet - where do you get the tools from? The springs came away from 2 of my poles when we took the tent down yesterday.
TIA

I'll have a google, we bought an initial pack of springs with a tool when we moved to canvas tents.

I found the best way to get the old spring out is to put the end of the pole on the floor and stand on the offending spring (making sure you have a sturdy pair of shoes on), and pull the pole up to stretch and ultimitely remolve the spring. Just watch the backlash on the spring as it pops out of the pole!
