We have a new Vauxhall Corsa and I'm really worried that we have too much stuff ( roof box etc isn't in the budget this year)
we have:
quechua T6.2
camping table and chairs ( they fit inside)
3 canvas chairs
clothes for 3
2 suitcase burners and gas
1 double air bed, 1 coleman double comfort
4 waterproof picnic rugs
2 additional ground sheets
2 double quilts, 3 pillows and copious fleece blankets ( hopefully will go into a vacuum bag )
small shelf unit ( the one off ebay recently recommended in another thread)
kettle and all the other cutlery and pans etc ( not too big, just got the stackable things from towsure)
a gas heater ( for outdoor use!)
a wind breaker
I think that's it! Oh blimey thats loads
I think a test pack is in order! LOL
We're thinking of putting the double back seats down to fit stuff onto... there is only my 12 year old in the back!
Just wondered if anyone else camps with a Corsa?

We take a similar amount plus a big electric coolbox that's plugged into the cigarette lighter on the way there, except there's only two of us so we have the luxury of being able to fold down all the back seats. We're only in a little Hyundai Getz
Here it is last year all packed up:
Should be neater this year though with our new drawer tower replacing the boxes. Would definitely recommend a practice run! You can not only check it fits, but it makes things a lot faster on the day.
------------- Boys don't grow up. Their toys just get more dangerous.
We put one side of the seats down and have the baby seat on the other - there are ISOFix fittings both sides luckily. We do have a roofbox though.
Just be careful packing it. Long poles across the car in the boot rather than front to back , heavy stuff at the bottom, light stuff at the top, gas cylinders somewhere central in the car etc etc,
I think the main thing people forget is to drive carefully. I never go above 55-60 on the motorway with a full load in the car and leave a big gap. Gives you a hugely increased reaction time to dodge accidents etc. I see people all the time steaming down the motorway on the way to dorset at 80-90mph with a car packed full of gear, 6 foot from the car in front with a couple of kids in the back surrounded by gear. It makes me go cold. At those speeds if something happens around you you have no reaction time and anything that does happen is going to be a lot worse than if you are doing 55.
We seem to have alot of stuff so definately going to have a practise before we go! We have a mondeo but with a 4 year old and 2 year old the car seats take so much room on there own!
Where abouts are you going..just noticed your going same day as me
------------- first time camping as a family on 7th august :)
Thanks for the reply's folks... I feel much better now! phew
I think we'll be okay, just have to do a test pack first... and not buy more stuff. I can't help it though I'm addicted
We're going to Black Rock in north Wales, sommersetgirl I can't wait!
Where are you going?
