I've had my Cobb for just over 7 weeks now & like everyone else thinks its great. I've been using standard bbq brickets (spelling??) from ASDA, no problem BUT.............I've seen a couple of postings mention heat beads, me bein' a fick scouser wos wunderin 

what are they & where can I get em?

Whats so great about 'em as opposed to bricketts?

If they're so gr=eat I'll try this w/e whilst in Llanberis.

heat beads are briquettes but kind of denser ie feel heavy for size and burn slower and hotter.I find they are better for the cobb than ordinary ones.They are often onlypart burnt after the end of cooking and I put them out with water and use them again!

Got mine from John lewis, but have seen them in big tescos and other places with big BBQ ranges.

 You can get them in tesco they are called Australian Heat Beads cost £3.99 a bag.

We do the same as theasmum ......... just 6 beads enough for 3/4 hrs cooking and if not completely burnt out, we wet them and let them dry out to use again

And as above ... we get them from Tesco for only £3.99 .. enough for about 15 bbq's
