Hi sassy

why don't you try mini sealy bags, that you can stick labels on, they are flatter and probably lighter than most spice jars/tubs

other than that look in b an m or bodycare for a holiday toiletry bottle set, normally has 3/4 small empty clear bottles and 1 spray, all fitting into a zip up pouch, i got mine for £1.99 from b an m, admittedly i use it for toiletries but they would house spices and maybe a little flavoured oil in the spray bottle or balsamic vinegar etc

hope this helps

Sharon

I use a little glitter set that my daughter had years ago. Seven little tiny tubes that fit in a mug easliy when packing.

I just got back myself, I took refill type bags of so some spices and decanted others into various tubs.  I've decided to look for some ziplock bags and a little box for our next trip so that I've got something resembling a card file with all my spices in.

If you only need pinches of things, how about one of those tablet sorters?

I have some of those toiletry travel bottles. I'll fill them up with things like chilli soy sauce, sweet chilli sauce, balsamic vinegar. I put herbs in sandwich bags with the ties, or tiny plastic snack tubs.

Sometimes I'll pre-mix my spices, so I'll have a sandwich bag with the correct spices to do a chilli, curry, or tagine.

How about some small film canisters? With digital cameras they may be difficult to find, but they would work and they would keep the spice in the dark so you'd need to put a label on so you know what's inside.

I use very small, clear, round, plastic cosmetic jars, they all screw together, the bottom of one screws to top of the next one down and so on.

Makes a little tower of spices.

Personally, we just leave them in the spice jars/pots they come in. They live in the standard food box that we always take. In thw winter I empty them out, amalgamating them into the household stock and thenj restock with fresh next time.

Hardly seems worth the effort of decanting into small pots when car camping, and we always ahve stock in the box, don't have to remember to top up.

If I did I'd probably use small Nalgenebottles.

I use these for herbs and spices.   You can get them free if use ask nicely at the photo counter at your local supermarket.

Never fails to amaze me, the ingenuity of the campers on here.

As we plan our 2nd trip I will see which of these I come across first and how much space I have.  I quite like the card file system in a box sounds cheap and practical.
Thank you all
