We have just bought a 5m bell tent and are confused as to which laterns we can buy so the tent would be lit up in the dark but dont want to keep forking out for gas if it runs expensive.
We also have a toddler that we need to consider...........any ideas
We use rechargeable lanterns, if we haven't got the ehu with us then we plug them into the 12v socket in the car to recharge (if you haven't got a separate socket then use the ciggie lighter).
Wouldnt use gas or kerosene lighting inside a tent especially with a child to consider. A rechargable (possibly wind-up) with multiple LEDs would be reasonable for general lighting, a smaller brighter lamp for reading (consider a head-light) and a low power lamp (one or two LEDs) for a reassuring night light. Bulbs break or burn out sooner or later and need more frequent battery replacement/charging.
