We have booked into a campsite which states 10amp electric hook ups. Most sites state 16amp. What is the difference? We only want it to power a light and small fridge. Will we be ok with our normal leads?

10 amp is more than enough to power a fridge and a light - we also run a 1kw fan heater and have never tripped the electric on a 10A hook up.

Just make sure that you have a proper EHU hook up lead (many sites won't accept home made/bodge eBay ones)

You can buy the 3 socket ones from places like Towsure and Riversway Leisure for about £50.

The difference is the 'amount' of power you can draw at any one time.

10A is 2.3kW / 2300W
16A is 3.6kW / 3680W

As above, 10A is plenty for your requirements.

If you are using a 2kw heater, switch it on at its lowest setting first and increase to the max (if needed) slowly.
The high initial surge can often cause the trip out to function.
