I need to be thinking about chairs (sad I know). Have some of those fold into a bag ones but only supermarket ones and not lasting well. Cant have recliners or anything big, must fold down small as we've only got the boot, and can't be megabucks. Any ideas? Thought if I looked now might be able to get some in a sale. Thanks
Did see some fold into bag ones in Millets. Dearer than mine, will they be better?

Literally just this minute taken delivery of my new Vango Corona folding chairs. They're great. They pack up just like the supermarket ones (admittdly a little bigger) They also have 3 positions, so whilst not quite a lounger....they're not far off. They are also padded a bit so are much more comfy than the supermarket ones. At £25.00 each they are not cheap, but two weeks on our old ones would have really "mangled" my back. Got them from here:
the outwell chairs are of very high quality, the arm chair or arm chair deluxe both colapse into a bag like the cheap supermarket ones, but are of far better build quality. kendal camping centre in cumbria have a large selection of them...i use an outwell chair myself and have never had any issues with it.
We travel lite (no roof box or trailer) so we take a couple of cheap chairs because they fold up smaller. One of our cheap Millets chairs broke after a couple of trips. We've replaced it with a cheap (£5) Asda one and it looks a lot stronger but time will tell.
BTW - I don't work for Millets, Asda or Kendle Camping Centre
Lafuma look nice but as you say out of my price and space range for the moment! Cheapo chairs have lasted 2-3 weeks camping so far, probably need new ones next year. It has occurred to me that when folded they are still bulky and I'll maybe think about those fold flat chairs that people had before these sort came along. You know the sort, stripey, white plastic armrest jobbies. Anyone had them?

We use a couple of Royal Venice folding chairs. They adjust to sit upright at the table, then right back for sunbathing, and have a removable pillow. So cater for all uses.
Not cheap at £35 but well made and far, far superior to a couple of Easy camps we had which failed on our first trip (and we're both slim !!). Got 'em from a caravan dealers. My back's a bit umpty and I just can't sit in the new style folding chairs.
we have 2 hi gear and 2 gelert chairs both pairs were bought for less than £15 a pair i weigh around 20 stone and the hi gear chair is still good after 2 years of me
the gelert ones are smaller

Not the stripey material sort but I'm sure that I saw some being sold off in B&Q with canvas seats .... you took right back with the stripey chairs to the Sunday picnics in the 70's, deckchairs, Camping gaz single burner, picnic table and my Nan
You know, my gran had one too! Had it years actually, though I expect it was better made than a lot of them today, probably cast iron and sail canvas or summat. Piled 4 of them up in a shop and they do take less room than the other sort, so might look for some bargains - B&Q here I come!.

Spotted a couple of Oz Tents on my last camping trip and if the make of them is anything to go by these will be great. They also have a 5 year warrenty! that works out at a £5 a year if you get them for the £25.
I got a couple of Lafuma Champ Elips Padded, from Riversway, they were ex-display and still had the cellophane wrapping on, and are in mint condition, they were reduce to £30, you can just make them out in my Gallery, with the Biscaya, we don't have a roofbox or trailer, so space is tight with the VW Golf, although having said that we have a Thule 420Lt BackUp box, anyway the chairs fold quite flat, and take up about the same space as the camping kitchen, and they realy are very comfortable chairs indeed. being Lafuma spares are available should the fabric become worn, which is handy to know for long term use.
I'm going to start saving up! The Oz and Lafuma both look really nice. Haven't come across either before, though they're not big on camping shops round here that actually have room to display stuff. I'll need at least two to start with (or kids will keep falling out who is sitting in it), so hopefully by next spring......

Catterick Caravans have very good stock and display of the Lafuma chairs, and they also have a decent cafe there!, worth a visit if only just for a mooch, very nice staff, it is were my Biscaya came from.
