looking into buying a trailer for all our gear, we have a large tent (outwell hartford xl) and id ideally like to by one with a solid roof so that i can put roof bars on it so i can put 4 bike on it, at the moment 2 children and 2 adult. ive looked at lots including erde and other ranges, but my research seems lacking, it needs to be big but not massive. around £500 i think would be reasonable.

sorry if this is in the wrong section would a mod kindly move it to where it needs to be?

oh and thanks in advance

I have just had a quick look at Erde trailers on Halfords site and your looking at £576 just for the trailer (Erde 122)ABS hard top and bars so you would still have to buy bike attachments spare wheel jockey wheel (if needed)Oh and locks and clamps So probably not doable for new maybe 2nd hand off fleabay or preloved, local adds

Rotter, Ifor Williams make some nice little box trailers (for example the BV64) with a rack on top. I use one for my camping trips, but so far haven't had to use the rack. Another alternative for bikes is just to lie them on top of a normal trailer and strap them down - seems to be what most people do. A bit of strategically placed padding between bikes prevents any damage. Saw 5 stacked on a trailer yesterday.

We had a 122 with the ABS lid and bars and managed to fit two bikes on. We now have a 193 and can just about fit 3 bikes on. We generally put two on the trailer and two on the tow bar with a MaxxRaxx rack.

I have a Brenderup 1150 and can get 3 bikes on top of it - you probably need quite a wide trailer to get 4 bikes on.
