They may be a bit pricey but it would be the last bed you ever bought.........

Definitely bed chair! We have one each and I added a single foam "egg box" type mattress to each. Oh, oh, soooooo comfy we didn't want to get up! Definitely worth the price. Look at Fishtec - they have the one we bought for £49.99.
I have both the Argos folding bed mentioned above, and a fishing bed chair. I was really happy with the folding one untill this last camp on a sloping pitch. We had to get all sorts of packing sorted so we did not slide out during the night, and it does not take much of a slope to cause problems. The biggest advantage with the fishing bed chairs is that all four legs are all adjustable, so the bed is completely level. So next trip will be the fishing bed, unless I know the pitch is level.

I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.
Like you we wanted really comfy beds with a bit of room. After loads of research, I bought 2 Outwell Extra large Deluxe camp beds from Outdoor Megastore and I am really pleased with them.
I hated blow up beds and my back used to suffer really badly the next morning. Also did not like the condensation you get from a blow up bed.
With our new beds, no back ache and get a fab nights sleep. Also loads of space underneath for storage. I put a no longer in use sleeping bag, inside out, on first to act as a mattress and then our sleeping bags on top of those. Some people have suggested buying self inflating matresses to put on first, but I haven't found the need. Very comfy and you could use anything really as a mattress if you felt you needed it. Even my husband said he had one of the best nights sleep on his bed in ages. Would definately recommend them but you will need to check your tent measurements first to make sure they will fit in. If not, you could go for the standard size ones instead.
They are also very easy to put up and take down and are not much bigger than a fold up chair once back in their bag.
Hope this helps.
