Why dont maufacturers properly galvanise tent pegs - brand new shiny ones come out of the soil just a few days later looking old and dirty and rusty !

surely a bit of zinc or chrome would sort this !

Some are properly galvanised or zinc plated, and some are hardened alloy or titanium and some are nylon and some are stainless steel....but as you have noticed, some are just cheaply made rubbish. That said, it doesn't really matter if they're a bit rusty and dirty, after all, they get buried in the ground!
