wanting to buy a mini oven for caravan but states 1000 watts - how do you convert this to amps so you know you wont trip EHU?

power = voltage x current (P=VI)

power = 1000 watts


I would assume that it is 230 volts

1000 / 230 = 4.35 Amps

As we were taught in school. Also know as P=IV

W - watts or P - power
I - amps
V - volts

Just swap the equation around to get what you need to know. It has stood me in good stead over the years!

If you're phased by all the calculations just reckon on 4A for every kilowatt (1000W).
