I want to buy some rock pegs. Doubt I'll need more than 10. Lots on ebay but I'm sure not all rock pegs are equal. Anyone recommend a brand or supplier?
------------- 2011 plans:
April - Exmoor 11 nights
May - Brynawelon, Wales 3 nights
July - Rendlesham Forest 4 nights
Then I am off back home to Australia, where the weather is always perfect for camping :)
I recently bought some. I wanted a lot more than 10 but after checking out on-line varieties I went to a local camping shop where they had lots of different types you could see and touch to gauge the quality. I paid 50p each for what seem excellent pegs. The nicest are the screw-in ones that you use an electric drill to put in, but they were way more than I wanted to pay given the limited use they will get.
I've just bought a new vango equinox and the pegs supplied are pants. In fact the guy rope pegs are a sectional cross and look lethal if a child tripped and fell on one. I've just been in touch with Rob Orr and ordered some traditional stainless steel pegs and nylon delta's. Also ordered some groundsheet pegs and some rock pegs from elsewhere for good measure. Thanks for the advice on the rock pegs.
I got a box of 20 rock pegs from Towsure just before going to France this summer. Best thing I ever brought as without them we would have been stufffed. Like Hotel on the first night stuffed! Pegs
