We are about to take down the awning from the van which has been on a seasoal pitch, unfortunatly the top of it has become very dirty because there is a large tree nearby.
What is the best method of cleaning & which is the best reproofer?
We cleaned our awning using a small amount of washing powder in a bucket of hot water with a scrubbing brush, it took quite a time to do but was well worth it.
Ours is a Dorema made from tencate material so may have been a bit more durable than some of the canvas type ones.
I use the same on ground sheets and a soft sweeping brush then just hose off.
I use pure soap flakes on mine, dissolved in a bucket using a brush to clean awning and a hose to clean off the soap , we still had to reproof it but it was very clean when we had finished, its a 1993 Isabella Combi awning, it was the first time it had been cleaned.
