It's my dad's 60th and my sister would like to buy him a Freesat system. Does anyone know of any good offers please. I know lidls one is supposed to be good and at £30 excellent value but they haven't got any.
I have seen one in B & Q for £40 are these any good because on searching people have said about the satalite channels normal channels, it must say freesat on the box etc and it all gets a bit confusing for someone who hasn;t a clue on all this LOL
Can anyone please help and steer me in the right direction and tell me what and where to get at a good price thank you so much
Hi, I'm not sure exactly what it is that you want as £30 for a system is unbelievable. Does your Dad already have the dish, LNB, cables, compass, sat meter, etc and you just need the box?
I saw a very nice Silver Crest box in Lidl's a couple of weeks ago it was just under £50, it was just the receiver though.
The lidl's one is £30 and it comes with the box, dish, compass etc we realise we would be very lucky to get one for that unless lidl do it again within a couple of days lol but the limit is probably about £50
I've got a Lidl system. It's not a Freesat kit it's "free to air" it does not have the Freesat epg. It only shows now and next on the epg. The main advantage is you can delete channels and re- arange their positions in the egp. Try looking on the Maplin's web site they do something similar. When Lidl's have them they go like hot cakes usually sell out in minutes.
A chap next to us last week bought the B&Q system because the signal at the site was so poor. He was pleased with it for 40 quid. He got the complete shaboodle, everything you need apart from a tellly set! Oh, and the dish doesn't have a stand but an old brrom handle soon rectified this for our neighbour!
Another vote for the £40 B&Q kit. It's a 60cm dish so you should get a good signal anywhere in the UK and a fair bit of Europe too. Mine is bolted on to the side of the house though.
