Our last camping trip was spoiled by us running out of gas whilst making breakfast, and the site and nearby suppliers didn't have the replacement bottle size that we needed.
It set me thinking that maybe in future I could take my EHU and use one of those electric rings. Having just looked on Argos webpage, they have Cookworks Double Boiling ring on offer at £21.99. I don't usually use the EHU unless going for a week or more. But when I finally got my gas bottle replaced it cost me £15.
Shall I, shan't I? Probably will as its on offer!!!
electric rings are ok, however, it takes ages to heat anything. suitcase burners are better as back up and gas is readily available. Either that or do what we do and carry a spare cylinder (when we do take the big cooker), we do take a suitcase burner as well, but thats mainly because we like a third ring.
------------- Camped since 2008 and still loving it!
Coleman double burner Dual Fuel Stove...Fuel always available via your cars petrol tank. I didn't know before I bought one of these just how hot they burn. A domestic cooker with a wok pit burns at 3500 watts whilst the Coleman throws out 4225 watts. If you cook Chinese it's brilliant.

Don't forget that the EHU is costing at least £3 a day, so the gas bottle price is not a bad deal as it will last a lot longer than 5 days
