Hi we are thinking of getting a porch for our Horizon tent but are wondering if anybody has had issues from campsites refusing to let you put it up or charge extra for it

Plus can anybody recommend the porch to us

Hi misuja - ok I hope.

You shouldn't get any hassle from campsites. We use to use a big Cabanon with a porch on one side and a sun canopy on the other -- no-one complained.

Hi

We have the Horizon Porch and there have been no issues on sites. Have to say it was well worth getting. Great for storage of kitchen stuff and things. Also was great in wet weather as we could put wellies etc in there and the main tent stayed clean and dry.

No issues with it whatsoever- only thing might be that the sides of the porch dont fit perfectly up to the side of the tent, but then you cant expect it to be a watertight fit- depends on how flat the pitch is too--

I have been wondering this. We bought a used horizon 6 which arrived today, and it came with the canopy but we were thinking of getting the porch for the other side? As we couldn't really use the canopy for storage as its all open - no doors or anything. Good for shelter but I did like the idea of like a little storage bit. And if we had the canopy on the other side and used that as a door, the porch could just be stoage, wouldn't even need to use it as a door.

But it is £80 which is a lot considering my horizon 6 and canopy together were less than that, delivered (used once).

I can't decide!

Does anybody know what the chances are of getting one of these second hand? Guess most people would just sell it with the tent.

Musuja - How much did you pay if you don't mind me asking? I saw them for £50 on one website but they were out of stock which isn't much good. And everywhere else was £80 ish.

I want one, but just can't justify the £80 when we don't have much money at the moment. It is my birthday next week though...

Hi, we paid £80 but I do agree that it alot for what you get - however I have watched the market for one since last september and only seen one 2nd hand on ebay but was blue and not the green which we need.

I too have seen the cheaper prices but as usual no stock available

Good luck in finding one

We bought one for our Kalahari 10 and couldn't manage without it now, we cook and eat in it when the weather is bad, it's also great for the kids to kick their muddy shoes off in! - we have never been charged extra but we do always ask!
