Hi,we are in the process of getting new sleeping bags and were wondering whether polyester lined or flannel lined are better. We have owned both and have for and against for each and wanted to get fellow campers opinions & experiences. Have seen the new Gelert sleeping pods that look fab as i always feel restricted in a conventional bag but they are polyester lined so that is our dilema!!
I personally would avoid polyester linings. I find them a bit, well, sweaty.
I also would reccomend a separate cotton inner. Cool in summer and warm in winter. It is also a lot easier to rinse and dry than a full bag when they get a little grubby.

The best you can do is buy or make your own liners of your choice. This saves the sleeping bag as you dont have to wash them as often.Washing ruins the filling and shortens the life.
We have a double sleeping bag and i made my own liners with two fleece blankets stitched toghther, just across the bottom and about 8 inches up the sides.
You can use any thing you like a old quilt cover is a good idea.
