Hi,

Can anyone recommend a good quality bike carrier (up to 4 bikes) to go on my towbar that can be used whilst I am towing?

you need to becareful of the weight you put on your towbar when towing, if your towing a caravan with 4 bikes on the towbar im sure that would be over weight on the bar itself. you might be better of going for roof mounted or boot mount carriers.

I don't think its feasible to carry 4 bikes on a towbar mounted rack while towing, you would overload back axle probabley even on a 4x4. 4 average bikes would weigh about 60-70kg in total. Also the bikes would hit the caravan as you turned. You need to put them on the roof.

Are you towing a caravan or a camping trailer? if a trailer you could probabley put 4 on a rack but you can also get racks to mount bikes on the trailer itsself.

Unless tou drive a tank you'll not get 4 bikes on & a trailer or caravan.  This would well exceed your noseweight & cause problems with the trailer hitting the bikes when cornering.  Put the bikes on the roof of the vehicle or inside or on top of the trailer.

We used to have 2 on the back of the caravan (Fiamma bike carrier) and the childrens two travelled inside the caravan.
