i'm new to the forum and wanted to post a message.
We recently purchased a Knuffle (dutch cuddle cape) for our child to keep him warm outside and inside the tent in the evenings. Not been camping as yet this year but do a lot of sailing and I have to say it's worth every penny. My son (aged 5) loves it, even in the house (where it is NOT cole), and is always putting it on. Looks good and is very cosy. Worth checking out if you want something warm.
These things are really two single blankets put together with sleeves, similar to the dressing gowns that my granny used to make [ badly ] when i was little.

Could you not just cut a hole in a fleece blanket and save yourself thirty quid? Or is that just me being really tight........
No way! Knuffles are a really thick, soft and light fleece with arm holes and a cosy neck. Because they are such a good quality fleece, it looks like a piece of clothing and not like a fleece blanket with a hole cut in it. Incredibly comforting to wear and perfect for when it gets cold at night .I think you might just be being a tad bit tight....
if anyone interested i say these this evening in asda for around a tenner.
they had children sizes and adult ones and was almost buying one for our boy too as he like his comfort at the age of 3.
i reckon it would be good for beach etc when getting out of a breeze.
i would say that i did NOT check how heavy they were so may not compare with this brand.
i think they just called it a blanket with sleeves.

Hi do you have a link? I just googled knuffle and got a lot of book sites - there's a famous story rabbit called knuffle bunny!
It's been misspelt - easily done. It's called a Knuffel Cape.
hi my 8 yr old son has a knuffel, from the camping travel store. and it is fab, he loves it. he wears it at home instead of a dressing gown.
it is two really thick layers of fleece (not one micro fleece like on the high street)it also has a very large pocket so you can pop in a hot water bottle. you can also fold it into itself to make a pillow. you can tuck you arms inside and its even big enough to curl his legs up inside of it. it has a turtle neck so no drafts get down your neck. great for inside the sleeping bag on cold nights and comming back from the showers.
so no you could not cut a hole in a fleece blanket and make do or buy similar from the high street. will buy one for me also, as sleeves won't get in the way when cooking. as for the slanket would be a pain omho for camping too long for walking, long sleeves get in the way and only thin fleece, and the back is open.
