I want to get some screw in ones, I think I have bought or inherited every other type! Always have a backache and hit my fingers working with the traditional ones.

Hi Mickey

Yes thats why i am looking at refelcta pegs - i have looked at the screw peg site but they seem much the same except as they are smaller and not reflective, then i will still trip over them. In terms of cost the reflecta pegs are £45.78 delivered vs £39.51 for the screw pegs. Both include the adaptor thing that fits the drill.

The reflectapeg has a 5 year warranty on the head bit against the screwpeg one of 3 yrs so i think i may take the plunge and get the new reflective ones.

If theres a guy line to trip over i am the one that does it (normally with a glass of wine in my hand!). Will let you know how i get on a i am on a 4 day trip to the CC site at Swanage over easter. Cheers

Update

Hi I received the reflectapegs jut before easter and took them to the Haycraft CC site at Swanage which was only using hardstandings.

You just slip the steel washer over the bolt thing then insert the screw into the middle of the plastic reflective bit. I used an 18v battery drill and fitted the adaptor that drives them into the ground.

the screws wobbled about a bit initially but when they were about 2/3 of the way into the hardstanding they suddently gripped and became much more rigid and "fixed".  I then attached the guy ropes of the awning and the ladder straps to the hooks on the pegs.

Very pleased with them and i didnt trip over anything in the 5 days we were there! Removing them was easy with the drill and they all fitted into the carry bag that i bought from them without me having to dismantle them individually.

I wondered what they would be like on grass so had a go on the grass at the back of the van and they went in and out eaisly so will use them next time i venture out.

Didnt try them in total darkness to see how reflective they were but as the sun went down (we had 4 days of blue skies and tractor pulling on Swanage sea front) i noticed that they were quite reflective in the settingn sun. Expensive but they are new and have the 5yr warranty so that swayed me. Cheers
