Piglet is right about not everything in COSTCO being a bargain. However, you can more than recoup your membership in one purchase.
My mother wanted a new television. The place I usually recommend is in Farworth, Bolton, which is almost always the cheapest or within a few pounds of being cheapest in the country. However, COSTCO had obviously bought a load of these and undercut my usual place by about £120 - a saving of around 20%.
The COSTCO I'm looking at is in Sheffield and we do have a friend who has cards for other wholesalers in that area ( Macro and JT Friths) so I'll be giving him a shout first
I have the igloo maxcold, it really does keep ice for 5 days. I always put 2, 2 litre bottles of water in the freeze a couple of days before we go. Then put these in to cool it down first. I also freeze items i wont use straight away. OH likes his beer ice cold too and this certainly keeps it cold. My sister was impressed with it and bought one.
