At last, i think i have found the chair that i have been looking for for the last 4 years. Compact enough to fit in the car but comfy enough to sit on to eat, relax etc for a week.

Go outdoors have got some new chairs in called Hi gear Texas, they are directors chairs that fold up to half the size of other directors chairs and they are so comfy, me and assistant at go outdoors tried a few different ones to compare and believe me there is no comparison.

They are £29.99 each but between 5pm and 8pm on thursday there is 15% off everything so am very tempted.

Has anyone got one? Just wondered if they are too good to be true before i buy one.

Thanks

Ahhh, the perfect chair, still on the lookout for one of those myself.  Had a seat on a Lafuma Champs Elise the other day, not impressed thought it would be really sturdy for that price but felt flimsy.  A Dukdalf (something mexican sounding) was sturdier but think I'll be sticking to my cheap chairs for a while!  Will have to have a look at the one you mention perhaps an end of season purchase.

Just purchased two of these very compact directors chairs. They are without doubt the most comfy chairs we have owned. They are currently on sale at Go Outdoors and are a snip at £15.80. I have been searching for sometime now for a compact comfy chair and was contemplating importing a couple of Kermit chairs from the US which would have cost £150.

Is this the one ?

Hi Gear Texas Camping Chair

What makes it so comfy ? It just looks like any other directors chair.

Any ideas on the weight of the chair ?

I'd rather pay the few pounds more and have these we bought early last year or could have been end of 2011. Three different reclining positions and so padded and comfy!

This was the first link I came from on a search on the name. Can probably besourced cheaper elsewhere as well.

Another vote for the Corona chairs, very comfy. We bought 2 for this years trip, as last year we were  sick of sitting in a chair which wouldn't recline or had anything to rest your head on! Got them from same place as Graham.
