But I'm after some info on these firelog things..We've never used 'em..never really paid much attention to 'em to be honest but having heard people say how they chuck 'em on the bbq when they've done cooking,we're thinking of getting a couple to try...
Which makes/brands are best avoided?....Are there any deals about at the moment?
..with having a woodburner at home,we normally just take a bag of wood with us but we thought this would be easier and less mess.
(..I'm aware that most "normal" campsites don't allow fires..I'm thinking more of up coming festivals etc..)

Can't help with advice on firelogs, but in my experience, festival campsites are much more crowded than "normal" campsites, and the occupants much more drunk/high. Having an open fire of any kind in those circumstances is just plain dangerous - and most likely banned by the festival organisers. Many festival campsites don't even allow barbecues.

They're much of a muchness, regarding brands. Just for them on special offer. B&M bargains have them in for 99p at the moment, and I think someone here said Asda did too.
...althouigh most festivals we've been to(..and we've been to a lot)..will let you get away with one,if you've got 'em in a raised bbq(..at Glastonbury you can have on the ground, they even supply the fire wood! )
It's the drunk/high "arty types",twirling poi, that are alight and soaked in paraffin, that you've got to watch out for...
Oops! slow at posting,sorry..thanks for that Frome..
home bargains have them for 99p...last about 2hours, they throw out quite a bit of heat ...if you pay more you can get them that spark and crackle like a real log..(can't see the point myself ..but each to his own)
Someone (can't remember who) recommended the fire log bag from netto - i took some along last weekend and they work really well (£5 for a large bag), although they don't burn as long as wood
(just noticed, Homer looks like you can wind him up - he's not clockwork honest, he is a real dog...)
Hi we get the long lasting logs from tescos £5.00 for 20.Not as good as the 99p ones you get from home bargains but i think its much better value for money.
Nothing better than throwing a few logs on just after having a bbq and then fight for the warmest spot around the campfire. Roll on may bank holiday where i will be doing exactly this cant wait.
