I've been spending my hard earned this week and thought I'd mention todays purchase from costco.

I'm 6ft 1 and 16st so not small and was having probs with my campbed and sleeping bag, so I thought a sleeping mat and bigger bag so here is what i got.

Sleepcell, the Ebag premium xl sleeping bag 40in x 90in (101cm x 228cm) it has a removable memory foam pillow, cool vents utility pockets I thnk a thin mem foam base also. tha box states good for -12 to 26.6.  £29 inc vat from costco. I had a quick peek at the one ut on the shelf and if your more of a fuller figure then I'd give them a look at.

also bought was a sportura deluxe self inflating mat 3" thicn and suitable about 6ft x 3ft but dont quote me will need to measure but at £18 inc vat from costco thought i would give a whirl.

I was looking at the posts from people looking at the gelert pods and only 1 person mentioned the ones in the shops are 2 season  and special attention when looking will you find that the beyond range are for taller persons but can cost nearly £10 more than the sleepcell.

gonna try the bag and matt at end of month so will update.

The -12*C will be an extreme temperature, i.e. the lowest temperature you should last 6 hours without dying ... but you may lose limbs.

It's a completely useless number for most camping. Does it quote a comfort temperature, which is the temperature it should keep you warm enough to sleep?

The numbers on the box are just the temp range but no comfort markings. If i was staying anywhere near to minus anything it will be in a hotel so no fear of losing limbs. ha ha.  I'm lucky/unlucky to be able to walk round in winter in shorts and tee's so as long as I have the space to move I will be ok.

Hi greendemon, have you used the bag yet? if so what's the verdict? I saw these in costco today and they looked good.
