Hi, I have just invested in a Aerobed Active Double sleeping bag after being fed up of replacing cheap ones. Like this...........

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B001B9HVXI/ref=asc_df_B001B9HVXI636881/?tag=googlecouk06-21&creative=7966&creativeASIN=B001B9HVXI&linkCode=asn&tag=ukcampsite00

First impressions are very good. The pump supplied is by far the best I have ever used, apart from the VERY specific charging instuctions. Firstly, you have to charge the pump for 24 hours before first use. Not a big deal. After this however, you have to charge the pump for no less, or no more than 12 hours, and the battery must be fully discharged before you do so. If you do not stick to these rules, the battery life will be significantly reduced. You can however power the pump direct from your car cigarette lighter, but seeing as the one in my current car is broken, that is not much use.

The one piece of information that I am after is how long does the battery on the pump last? Will it inflate the bed twice? Three times? Four times? This information is not given.

Does anyone have one of these that can advise?

One thing that did make me laugh in the instructions was how to inflate the bed in an "Emergency". Heres the quote:

"In an "EMERGENCY", a 3 HOUR charge will provide one inflation"

So here I am in my tent freezing my ****s off, and all I have to wait is 3 hours! Suppose you have to make sure it is fully charged before you go then!

All in all though I'm very pleased, the bed inflates super quick and deflates even quicker thanks to the huge valve that you open. I reckon from being fully inflated to being packed away in the bag would take you around 30 seconds, and I'm not exaggerating. It also feels very comfortable. Recommended.

Any info on the pump charging situation much appreciated.

Andy

WE followed the charg instructions for first time charging - long charge etc till after the first use.
After that we just charged the pump most of the day before we went away and used it to blow the bed up and that was it till we charged it for the next trip.

It's like a mobile phone battery - you need to charge it for as long as they tell you then let it completely dischage before charging again or else you never get full use from your battery and it won't hold charge properly.
Same with a lap top - if you use it on mains all the time the battery doesn't like it and won't hold charge well when you need it to. It's always adviseable to use it on the battery and let the charge run right down from time to time.

You should get 3 full inflations out of a full charge. After that run it flat by sticking your finger round the edge to start the pump running (you'll find it ) and then recharge. we are lucky enough to have 2 pumps as we had a faulty aerobed ( you just have to cut the valve out and send it back)

We've just bought one of these and were wondering the same thing.  So we fully charged the pump and then inflated it, deflated it, inflated it again etc until the pump ran out. We got 4 inflations.

I have got a new Aerobed Active too.  Have inflated it 4 times so far from the initial 24 hour charge, will have a try for a fifth time and see if it makes it and report back soon.

Results:  It's 4.  The pump discharged before the 5th inflation was complete.

Are you aware this thread is 12 years old? If ant of these Aerobeds are still in service, I'd be surprised.
