Hi
I am going to Clipsby Hall in August pitch with no electric hook up,
Have got most camping equipment though do not have a coolbox, I have been looking at the Outwell 12/230v
Now I am sure I can use this as a normal coolbox with ice blocks but it seems to make sense that I could plug it into the 12v supply while traveling as I have a 4 hour journey. Just after some advice please on this box

I had one of these coolboxes, it stopped working after two days! I have just bought a campingaz 24 litre one, but in all honesty, I plugged it in at home to make sure it worked, and the noise was awful, it is very loud. Must admit, I think I would next time go for a three way fridge. Yes you can use it as a non electric coolbox, we had to when last one conked out
P.S. We went to Clipsby last year, very nice! And they have facility to put ice-pack in freezer.

Last weekend, i used mine like that. while traveling had it on 12 volt and then when pitched, used as a normal cool box.
then return journey, back on 12 volt.
pack it with some ice blocks or frozen food when you set off though

I'm not sure if our Outwell box is on the way out but it let us down last week, we ended up binning everything. It doesn't seem that cold.
------------- Are you sure you've read the instructions?

I used one (now have tabletop fridge) and it was fine, didn't find it noisy, plugged it into the car on way down, kept everything cold as it should, was good coolbox imo
