I am looking for some old tent poles. - 4 to be exact.
They have to be steel, 19mm female end, 17mm male end.
I am not bothered about the length because I intend cutting them to length anyway.
Can anyone help?

Local caravan shop will likely have spare poles, Jacksons near me had several black bins full of them.
They recently had a fire though.

Have you got any contact details?
Address, email and phone would be great - maybe they could send me some stuff.

As i said though they had a major fire recently so your local dealer would be a better option.

I found this shop and sent them an email.
The guy phoned me later in the afternoon and you were right, they have had a serious fire!
According to the cahp who rang, all of the metal poles, steel and alloy melted in the heat. It must have been bad because the roof support girders also distorted.
So I've drawn a blank again I'm afraid.
He did mention a place called Tent Spares in Hinkley, but I don't seem to be able to locate them. can anyone give me any details of these?

I think awning poles are about 23mm or 25mm, but perhaps tent canopy poles , or king poles may be the right diameter ?

I've looked through all our telephone directories for Tent Spares of Hinckley, but can't find them listed.
Your best bet may be to try your nearest independent camping shop as they may keep a stock of spare poles.

I know GoOutdoors in Bristol has some poles near the entrance, I'm always looking for an excuse to go in there, I may have time tomorrow, before I head back to sussex. Will take my vernier callipers with me, just in case.
