I'm confused. Is it the lack of a Fulham nozzle, or the fact that it self seals, that makes the first example dodgy ?
My understanding is that both examples self seal when disconnected. But one is dodgy and the other is not ?

As long as they both fit 8mm ID hose (which they do), they are fine.
Well said !! I can now point this out to Mrs Happy, who was so so worried that we were about to be fried in our beds because of my dodgy purchasing habits.
